Christine Thompson
Christine Thompson is the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Spoke & Weal and one of the industry’s most respected voices in hair color, chemistry, and hair health. A globally recognized educator and creative strategist, Christine has spent her career at the intersection of artistry and science—helping shape product innovation, education, and creative direction for leading professional beauty brands including Aveda, K18, and OMI.
Christine played a key role in the development of Aveda hair color and later served as a leading creative and color authority for K18, advising on education and professional strategy through the brand’s rapid global growth. Her work spans R&D testing, formulation feedback, education, editorial, fashion, and global campaigns—including, most recently, leading hair color for a signature campaign for Apple.
At Spoke & Weal, Christine leads our creative vision and education, mentoring generations of hairdressers in the craft she has spent a lifetime mastering. Hairdressing runs in the family: Christine followed her grandmother into the profession, and her daughter has continued the tradition.
Outside the salon, Christine builds and races motorcycles, raised a family while building her businesses, and brings the same curiosity, precision, and fearlessness to just about everything she does.
Christine continues to work behind the chair, seeing guests in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Palo Alto.
Liz Norton
Liz Norton is the Co-Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Spoke & Weal, leading the company’s strategy, growth, brand, and operations across its salons nationwide.
Liz believes that great creative businesses are built by taking both the craft and the people behind it seriously. Her work at Spoke & Weal has focused on creating an environment where exceptional hairdressers can build meaningful, financially rewarding careers while guests experience extraordinary technical work and genuine care.
Working alongside Christine and the Spoke & Weal team, Liz has helped grow the company into one of the country’s leading independent salon groups while protecting what matters most: mastery of the craft, education, hospitality, high standards, and a culture where people can thrive.
Her approach combines ambitious thinking with operational discipline and a belief that doing great work, building a great business, and taking great care of people should reinforce one another.
Outside of Spoke & Weal, Liz lives in the Colorado mountains with her two young children. A lifelong athlete and avid skier, she believes fresh air solves most problems.
