Accessibility

Open to everyone.

We want every guest to be able to find a salon, read about our services and book an appointment, whatever tools they use to browse.

Our commitment

Spoke & Weal is committed to making spokeandweal.com usable by as many people as possible, including guests who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced motion. Accessibility is part of how the site is built and maintained, not a one-off project.

The standard we work to

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act guidance for websites. The site is reviewed against it with automated testing on every page type and manual checks of keyboard use, focus visibility, reading order, colour contrast and motion.

What is in place

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a skip link to the main content.
  • Headings, landmarks and link text are structured so screen readers can move through a page in order.
  • Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative video is marked as such.
  • Background videos can be paused, and the site respects the reduced-motion setting of your device.
  • Text colours are checked for contrast against their backgrounds.
  • The site is re-audited every quarter and after significant changes.

Known limitations

A few parts of the site are provided by third parties and are outside our direct control: the online booking window (Boulevard), the embedded Google Maps on salon pages and the class registration pages on Corsizio. We pass accessibility feedback about these to the providers. If any of them is in your way, call the salon directly and the front desk will book for you.

Tell us if something is not working

If you find a page, a feature or a document that you cannot use, please let us know. Email info@spokeandweal.com with the page address and a short description of the problem, or call us: the Los Angeles salon answers at 323-591-0979, and the number for every other salon is on its salon page. We aim to respond within five business days and to fix genuine barriers promptly.
